    I wasn’t expecting new recipes, after all, MB has written so many cookbooks and realise this was written to accompany the television series. But this is a lovely book, full of revamped recipes that include ingredients many of us would already have in the larder or are readily available in supermarkets. Simple to use, beautiful photos of each completed dish which just encourage you to get cooking.Like many, I have several well tried family recipes from parents and grandparents but it’s always good to read a book that can freshens idea. However, not all are successful. I made the fish pie, adding the boiled eggs, but found it too sloppy after adding all the wet ingredients and the fish just disintegrated. Will stick with my own recipe, poaching the fish whole before breaking into large pieces then adding the sauce. And no boiled eggs.

Hardly a recipe I will not try which is rare as most cookery books it’s 50% of the recipies at best which are appealing.Fabulous layout clear instructions complimented by great photographs.It is a 5* book and I agree with other reviews one of Mary’s best ever.Why have I not given a 5* review simply because like others, my book arrived with lots of scuffs on the spine and no jacket cover ! which is most unusual. AMAZON how are you storing these books as it is not great for a brand new release which should be in pristine condition ??
